THEATRE PROJECT 2:
Transport/ a summerday present ELEGY
SATURDAY 30TH JULY, 7.30PM
Folkestone based Transport premiere a new theatre piece in a reconfigured Quarterhouse prior to its run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
‘Imagine we’re sitting in a cafe on the border of a country where I am from but you are not.’ Sunset…solitary figure…a secret place. Intoxicating love…aching in exile. When we face the truth and the story begins, the figure’s voice and gestures change, moving seamlessly into the voice of another, and nothing is quite as it seems. Fusing storytelling, live music specially composed music by award winning composer Raymond Yiu and visual poetry, inspired by real events, ‘Elegy’ creates moving and urgent theatre. Directed by Douglas Rintoul (Barbican, Dundee Rep, Complicite), performed by Jamie Bradley (Complicite, Knee High, Fevered Sleep).
